I (we) wanted to share some exciting news with you regarding the launch of a new course titled “Supporting Hidden Helpers in the Classroom,” designed to help educators and school professionals understand the unique needs, strengths, and challenges faced by military caregiving youth. These young individuals, referred to as Hidden Helpers, provide care that is often unseen, unrecognized, and unsupported.
The course consists of four modules that explore the challenges faced by Hidden Helpers and provide strategies, resources, and recommendations to support them. By the end of the course, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the challenges, explore the needs, and discuss practices and services to effectively support youth in caregiver roles.
“Supporting Hidden Helpers in the Classroom” addresses an often overlooked and under-supported group within our education system. It takes about 30 minutes to complete, is free of charge, and includes downloadable resources. If you are interested in learning more, visit:
