
JULY 31- AUGUST 2, 2017 – For nineteen years MCEC has been bringing together the expertise and practical tools to prepare military children for a bright future; rooted in positive experiences from life transitions sustained by their family unit and a common military culture.
- Dr. Jill Biden discussed her passion for education and supporting families who serve our nation by sharing her own experience with her granddaughter Natalie’s struggle to adjust to her father’s absence.
- Military child, Avery Nokes, beautifully sang the National Anthem and introduced Dr. Jill Biden to hundreds of educators, professionals, parents, and students.
- The MCEC Student 2 Student® teams led the discussion to hear how the military can best move forward making necessary hard choices while addressing the challenges facing military families and at the same time capitalizing on inherent military and veteran family strengths.
