2025 MCEC Global Training Summit Tools of the Trade: Technology’s Impact on Education

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the Global Training Summit moving from a DC event to regional events?

In response to evolving circumstances affecting many of our traditional attendees’ ability to participate, we’ve made the strategic decision to bring GTS directly to key military communities in Texas and Georgia. The goal is to reduce travel barriers and make programming more accessible to more participants in military communities.

Will the regional events have the same quality programming as the DC summit?

Yes. We are coordinating the same high-quality content, expert speakers, and valuable resources to each regional event. While each location may have some regional customization to address local needs, the core programming and educational value remain unchanged.

I already registered for the DC event. What are my options now?

Registered attendees for the DC event have been contacted by email, and do have several options:

  1. Transfer your paid registration to one or both regional events. The remaining balance may be directly refunded, applied to your 2026 GTS registration, designated to an alternate attendee, or donated as a scholarship to another attendee.
  2. You may request a full refund.

If you did not receive communication regarding your paid registration, please email GTSregistration@militarychild.org

Will the student training track still be part of the regional events?

Yes, student programs remain a cornerstone of GTS, and the regional approach makes this valuable program more accessible to student participants, with reduced travel requirements and costs.

Will CEs be offered at the regional events?

Professional development certifications and continuing education credits will be available at each regional event. More specific information about the CE opportunities for each regional event will be provided as those details are confirmed.

What if I don’t live near either of the regional event locations?

Regions were selected based on proximity to the highest concentrations of our participants, and we understand they are not convenient for everyone. We encourage you to consider which location might align best with your professional networks or interests, as each will have unique regional perspectives while maintaining core content.

Is this a one-time change or will GTS be regional in future years?

Our primary focus will always be on delivering the most effective support for military-connected students and professional development for youth-serving professionals. This year’s regional approach gives us an opportunity to evaluate the benefits of bringing GTS directly to military communities. We’ll carefully assess the impact and gather participant feedback to inform our approach for future years.
