Subject: Request for Approval to Attend the MCEC Global Training Summit

Dear [Supervisor’s Name],

I am writing to request approval to attend the Military Child Education Coalition’s (MCEC) Global Training Summit (GTS), taking place in [insert location and date: Atlanta, GA on September 22, 2025 or Austin, TX on September 26, 2025].

MCEC’s Global Training Summit is a premier professional learning event designed specifically for educators, counselors, administrators, and professionals who serve military-connected students. The Summit features nationally recognized experts in education, mental health, and youth development, and offers research-based strategies, tools, and resources that I can immediately apply in our school community.

Attending GTS will help me:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the unique educational and emotional needs of military-connected children and families.
  • Learn best practices from other school districts and educators facing similar challenges.
  • Identify evidence-based strategies to support student transitions, strengthen school connectedness, and enhance academic success.
  • Network with peers and partners who are committed to creating inclusive, supportive school environments.

The knowledge and insights I gain will directly benefit our school’s efforts to foster resilience and belonging among all students. I also plan to share key takeaways and tools with our broader team to amplify the impact of my participation.

The estimated cost to attend is as follows:

Registration Fee: $ [insert amount]

Travel/Lodging: $ [insert amount]

Total: $ [insert total]

Thank you for considering this request. I am confident that attending the Global Training Summit will strengthen my ability to support our students and contribute to our school’s goals. Please let me know if you need additional information to support this request.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

The critical support you provide to military-connected students can’t stop while current budget challenges are resolved. That’s why we’ve adapted our approach with these key factors in mind:

  • Expanded accessibility: By hosting events in Texas and Georgia this fall, we’re reducing travel barriers and bringing critical educational resources to where military families live and serve.
  • Student leadership showcase: The innovative student training track remains a centerpiece of these regional events, training more student leaders to support their peers through school transitions — one of the biggest challenges facing military children.
  • Same quality content: You’ll receive the same high-quality professional development focused on supporting military-connected students that you’ve come to expect from GTS, including the latest research, best practices, and policy updates.
  • Affordability: By bringing GTS to key regions, we’re reducing your travel expenses and reducing time away from your schools. The lower cost and reduced travel time means you can potentially send more staff members — multiplying the impact in your schools and creating stronger implementation of new strategies to support your military students.
  • Local relevance: While maintaining our powerful “Technology’s Impact on Education” theme, each regional event will incorporate elements specific to military-connected students in your area, making the content immediately applicable to your school community. Connect with nearby districts and schools facing similar challenges in supporting military families, building sustainable partnerships that continue long after the event.
