The MCEC Student 2 Student Teams of the Year reflect the outstanding S2S teams around the world who have made significant impacts over the previous year within their schools and throughout their communities. MCEC proudly announced the winners of the 2024 S2S Team of the Year Awards at the MCEC Global Training Summit in Washington, DC on July 31, 2024. We congratulate all S2S programs for their tireless efforts during a challenging year and salute the sponsors, educators, and parents for their leadership and unwavering support.

- Emma Thomas, former member of S2S at Union Pines High School, Frances Hesselbein Student Leadership Program (FHSLP) recipient, current UNC-Charlotte School of Nursing senior, and S2S advisor, helped present the awards.
- Driscoll Middle School’s S2S team highlighted exceptional leadership by planning and executing various school and community activities.
- Driscoll Middle School’s S2S team’s dedication to academic support and a welcoming environment for new students exemplifies their commitment to service and inclusion.
- Winning for the second consecutive year, Burkburnett High School’s S2S team is known for its strong leadership structure, academic support, and inclusive culture. The team’s dedication to 100% acceptance and service makes them a standout.
- Liberty Middle School, Elite Team of the Year, standing near their team boards created earlier in the week.
- Liberty Middle School, last year’s Middle School Team of the Year, now recognized as the Elite Team of the Year, stood out for its comprehensive support system for new students and its commitment to service.

What is the S2S Team of the Year Award?
The annual S2S Team of the Year competition recognizes S2S programs that provide exceptional peer support to new and current students, engage in service to their school and community, and create a sense of belonging for all students. S2S Teams accomplish this by:
- Incorporating best practices for transitioning students
- Participating in service projects
- Providing peer-to-peer support for all students
