Texas Educators Convene for Statewide Military-Connected Student Support Summit

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN ANTONIO, TX – January 15, 2026- The Military Child Education Coalition® (MCEC®), in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) will host the first statewide Military-Connected Student Support Summit on January 29, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST. This full-day professional learning event is designed to equip Texas educators and professionals with strategies, practical tools, and best practices to effectively support military-connected students.

Featured sessions include:

  • Serving Military-Connected Students – understanding academic, social, and emotional impacts of military life
  • MIC3 Compact: Engage, Learn, Apply – led by Lindsey Dablow, featuring case-based application of eligibility, enrollment, placement, and graduation provisions under the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children
  • Leveraging Resources for Student Success – including Purple Star Campus supports and regional Education Service Center (ESC) Military Champion roles

The summit takes place at Education Service Center (ESC) Region 20, 1314 Hines Avenue, San Antonio, Texas. There is no cost for educators to attend. Registration is open through January 22, 2026.
