About the Caregiving Youth Student Leadership Program

The Caregiving Youth Student Leadership Program was established to help youth in caregiving roles identify resources as well as increase leadership knowledge and skills to help prepare for life after high school. High school Caregiving Youth with leadership potential, representing all branches of the Armed Forces including National Guard and Reserves, are invited to apply.

Caregiving youth are students who contribute and provide physical and emotional support and care for a family service member who may have seen and/or unseen injuries.

Students engage in leadership activities and lessons focused on preparing to be college-, work-, and life-ready following high school graduation.

The 2025 application window is closed. The 2026 program will open applications in early fall and the retreat is scheduled for February.

The Caregiving Youth Student Leadership Program is supported through our partnership with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project.

This program is powered by Wounded Warrior Project® to honor and empower post-9/11 injured service members, veterans, and their families.
