Chief Advancement Officer
Amse Heck is Chief Advancement Officer at the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC), where she leads fundraising, government affairs, and strategic partnerships to strengthen support for military-connected children nationwide.
A military spouse and mother of three, Amse brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across mental health, veteran services, and education. Her work blends human-centered design and systems thinking to create sustainable, equity-driven solutions that scale. She has testified at state and federal levels to expand 988 crisis services, stabilize behavioral health funding, and advance school-based access to care.
Previously, as Chief Advancement Officer at EveryMind, she led a period of transformative growth in which the organization’s impact more than tripled, fueled by new partnerships, expanded policy influence, and sustainable fundraising strategies. She advanced major initiatives in crisis response, youth mental health, and veteran suicide prevention, while also building AI-informed donor strategies and integrated impact dashboards to strengthen long-term resilience.
Amse holds a Global MBA from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and a BA from Bryn Mawr College. She serves on the Salute to Service Advisory Board for Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital and as Chair of the Sheila and General George Casey National Capital Region Chapter Advisory Board for Blue Star Families.
Her leadership is grounded in ethics, dignity, and connection, guided by the belief that when we center people, embrace innovation, and invest in communities, we create systems where every child—not just some—can thrive.
